A special afternoon of Christmas storytelling in partnership with Muzeo Museum in Anaheim. Our elves helped guests get into the spirit of the season and a classic Charles Dickens character told everyone all about “A Christmas Carol”. Guests also enjoyed the Muzeo Express model train exhibit that celebrated the season with whimsical holiday displays. While they were there, everyone had the opportunity to write a letter to Santa and drop it off in a magical mailbox that went straight to the North Pole! There were treats, games and yuletide cheer for everyone. Lucky guests even got a tiny treasure to take home!

Charles Dickens is well-known as the man who invented Christmas…and for good reason! He vowed to keep Christmas in his heart always. For the last five years, we have brought you a connection to Charles Dickens thanks to Larry Hicks who arrives in full costume and takes us back in time to the Victorian era as one of Charles Dickens characters. At this event, he attended as Septimus Hicks. You can also learn more about Larry Hicks and his connection to Charles Dickens by reading our diary entry, “Transformation of the Heart.”

Guests enjoyed the holiday themed model train exhibit before “Dickens’ Christmas Stories.”

A short video to thank everyone who came out to our “Dickens’ Christmas Stories” event! Guests were transported back in time and met Septimus Hicks who shared how his creator, Charles Dickens, re-invented Christmas.

Guests sipped on hot chocolate stirred with peppermint sticks, whipped cream and sprinkles.

Some lucky guests even left with a specially-made miniature “A Christmas Carol” book or one of our wooden “Stardust” ornaments…both special memories to hang on decorated trees at home.

Enjoy the entire event livestream with host, Greg Nutt, from “The American Landscape.”
